 Creating Showreel


I knew that I initially wanted to create my showreel on Adobe Premiere Pro, as it was something I had experience using throughout my time on this course. Although problems of the software previously had included crashing and not saving work, so I took to it with extra precaution. This included frequently saving, having at least two places for it to be saved. As I had problems with having to recreate my logo, I decided to create it on iMovie, which would allow me to work on it from home and not have to rely on lesson time to create it.

The first step I took in creating my own showreel, was finding a suitable piece of music to accompany my projects. As previously found, the best music for this, in my opinion was upbeat and energetic, yet not overpowering. 

This powerpoint outlines the choices I made and how I came to do so.

 Showreel Design Research To start with my showreel research, I took to YouTube to try and spot common themes throughout each one.  Upon my research, I found a playlist of other Year 2 Level 3 Media students' showreels. This was beneficial to my own, as I could apply or differ from the running themes of these videos.   Most of them included: Upbeat, energetic music Short snippets of each project spread out, to keep the attention of the audience Subtitles explaining each project Personal / business logo's to present each video These points make an effective showreel as the correct music is so important. B1: Final Website Design

 Final Website Design After the feedback I received from my peers on my Google Form, this is the final version of my website  . Taking suggestions from my peers, I added an "Industry Inspirations" section to my "About Me" page and my LinkedIn to the "Contact" page. I decided to update my website with these additions as my peers' opinions are important, due to them knowing what they would like to see out of a website. These suggestions allow the viewer of my website to become more knowledgable on who I am and how they can find me.

 Mock Interview Preparing Practice Media company- BBC -They provide news based on British Values of accuracy, impartiality and fairness. Their website states they want to bring news to "help people understand and engage with the world around them" -The BBC wants to reflect the UK, its culture and values to the world -They put their audience at the heart of everything they do Their interviews (usually with 2 or 3 BBC workers) want to know all about your skills, achievements and behaviours.
