B1: Mock Interview Feedback
Mock Interview Feedback
My interview took place on 8th February. Although I had fully prepared, I was still nervous to complete it. However, I had nothing to worry about as I was made to feel comforted and it was almost like it was just a friendly conversation. The interviews were recorded to provide evidence and to act as feedback that we can take forward into real-life interviews and scenarios.
Link to interview:
As it was more of a relaxed environment, I think I gave very appropriate and well developed answers. However, real-life interviews may not go this positively.
Areas I believe went well:
One of the positives of my mock interview was that I was able to answer questions, using my prepared answers, without sounding too rehearsed or scripted. I knew what I was saying, yet spoke in a way that was not too artificial. Another positive of my interview was that I was able to ask a question to the interviewer at the end. This is extremely common in real interviews and something that may be expected from me in the future. Although the question asked was more about the company in this circumstance, it was still beneficial to put this into practice.
Areas I wish to improve on:
Improvements could absolutely be made on my interview. For example, coming across so nervous. Even with the knowledge that it was a mock interview, it was still something I was apprehensive about, so I would like to work on this for the future. Another criticism I would give myself is to sound more professional. Perhaps because it was a more relaxed environment, in comparison to real interviews, I did not grasp that I still had to be professional. Moving forward I would like to appear more polished, which I will be able to complete with more practice and scenarios like this one.
